Engineering Intern, Traffic Team

I would assist the team on traffic impact studies of new developments by counting cars, working in CAD or putting the data in HCS or Synchro. I also worked on the city of Olathe's advanced traffic management system by laying fiber optic lines along the city's major streets in CAD and calculating quantities and costs for the system.
How would you describe your job to a 6-year-old?
I make it so you can drive from your home to your friend's home quicker.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
Realizing that unlike schoolwork, projects can change significantly on a daily basis, which may mean you have to recalculate a few steps each time it is changed before you can continue.

Just find one. It doesn't really matter where you start as one will lead to another. The first one will be the hardest to get.
