Here's what you need to know about being an Olsson intern:

Q. How many hours a week will I be expected to work?
A. Most of our interns work 15-20 hours a week. Some work full time during the summer.

Q. If I’m hired as a summer intern, can I stay on through the school year?
A. Some interns do; some don’t—it depends on what works best for you and the needs of your team. It’s best to check with your supervisor and discuss.

Q. What kind of training opportunities will I have as an intern?
A. As an intern, you’re eligible for all of our in-house training and brown bag lunches. You’ll also work hand-in-hand with professional engineers, engineers-in-training, and other students.

Q. Does Olsson Associates have any kind of mentoring program for interns?
A. All of our interns are matched with an Olsson sponsor who will get you acclimated and show you around the office. But we think you’ll find any of your co-workers are more than willing to help you learn and to serve as a mentor.

Q. Do interns receive benefits?
A. Interns are eligible for some benefits. See our benefits section for details.

Q. What type of projects will I be working on?
A. Every student’s experience is different, but you can read about a couple of our previous interns’ experiences on this page. If you’d like to learn more about aspects of certain projects or of the engineering industry, just ask!
